On Saturday 28 of the Windsor Dog Show held at Home Park, Windsor, the YKC will be hosting training morning for young handlers to improve existing skills, or to try handling for the first time.

Area: TBC

Parking: Free Parking for YKC members taking part in the training.

Entrance to get into the show: Free entrance to the show.

Exit out of the Show: If you wish to leave after the training session you will need to collect your exit pass from the trainer. You will need this pass to exit. 

Facilities: Toilets  

Refreshments: Onsite refreshment and catering vans at the Show. Pre book afternoon tea.

Please bring a drink with you to training for yourself and your dog.

Handling Programme
Afternoon Registration: 12:30pm

Afternoon Training: 1pm start 3 x 40 min sessions with 2 breaks

Training will cover: Entering the Ring / Lead Work / Standing your dog / Shadowing 
Presenting your dog to the Judge / Pattern Work

This is a training event and will take place outside. Please make sure you wear comfortable and appropriate clothing and footwear. Please check the weather before the event.

Members under the age of 18 years old must be supervised by a parent/guardian during the event.

Terms and conditions

Members under the age of 18 years old must be supervised by a parent/guardian during the day so you must stay on site at all times during the event. Parents should also be on hand to hold or look after dogs during exercises that do not require the dog. 

Dog Welfare 

  • Dogs must be at least 6 months old to attend this training session
  • Dogs must be on a lead unless training requires them to be off lead
  • No person shall carry out harsh handling of their dog at any time during the event
  • No dog which has contracted or been knowingly exposed to any infectious or contagious disease during the 21 days prior to the event, or which is suffering from a visible condition which adversely affects its health or welfare is to be brought to the event
  • Please make sure you clear up after your dog at the venue
