A German Shorthaired Pointer named Tigger from Billingshurst in West Sussex has won the Kennel Club Novice Hunt, Point and Retrieve (HPR) Gundog Working Test, held at Chatsworth House, Derbyshire by the gracious permission of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire. The judges were Eddie Hales and Rita Howard. The event is kindly sponsored by Eukanuba.
Tigger, owned by Sanne Virdee and handled by Rory Major, was awarded first place at the test which saw talented Hunt, Point and Retrieve breeds tested on their hunting and retrieving skills.
Rory said: “It was a great day for me. The Hungarian Wirehaired Vizsla I bought in from France went well and the Shorthaired Pointer is an outstanding dog, with outstanding breeding. I am honoured to have handled him’’.
Caroline Kisko, Kennel Club Secretary, said: “Well done to Rory and Tigger on their success. The HPR breeds originate from a number of countries, so it was good to see Rory showcase his skills with two different breeds. We wish him and Tigger all the best for the future”.

- 2nd Penidasher Lucky Lad, German Shorthaired Pointer owned and handled by Nigel Boden
- 3rd Germanus Black 'n' Gold, German Wirehaired Pointer owned and handled by Stevie Hoyle
- 4th Jaguar du Domaine Saint Hubert at Bryantscroft, Hungarian Wire Haired Vizsla owned and handled by Rory Major
