The Kennel Club has announced an updated, streamlined Year Book, designed to be more practical, accessible, and user-friendly. Launching in July 2025, it will retain all essential information while being easier to navigate.
The Year Book has grown increasingly complex over time, leading to challenges in usability. In response, The Kennel Club is streamlining its content to facilitate quicker updates and eliminate duplication, while reducing costs and environmental impact.
Key changes:
- The first half of the Year Book will continue in print, including the Directory of Members and Associates.
- The second half will move to digital-first, with up-to-date information on clubs and societies, as well as the regulations governing canine activities available online. The activity regulations also remain available as:
- Printed booklets by activity – provided free to event organisers and available for purchase through The Kennel Club’s online shop.
- Free PDFs – downloadable from The Kennel Club’s website.
Jannine Edgar, Chief Executive at The Kennel Club, emphasised the importance of member feedback in shaping this update:
"Through surveys and consultations, we’ve carefully considered feedback. The slimline Year Book ensures timelier, more relevant information for those who rely on it. The benefits include a more streamlined and focused Year Book, quicker access to essential information, a gradual shift to digital, and less unnecessary content to navigate, creating a more efficient and accessible experience overall.”
Preview examples of the new format will be showcased at The Kennel Club at Clarges Street, the Windsor Championship Dog Show, and the Annual General Meeting in June, where staff will be available to answer questions.
