Changes to heelwork to music regulations

The Kennel Club has recently approved the following changes to the regulations for heelwork to music which will come into effect on 1 January 2020.

The following regulation has been amended to bring the timeframe for attendance at seminars for Heelwork to Music judges into line with those applying to other disciplines. The requirement to take the examination has also been included in line with other disciplines.

Amendment to Regulation L15.b.(v)

TO:

From 1 January 2016 2022 all judges must have attended a Regulations and Judging Procedure seminar, and must have passed the examination, every four five years since passing the Regulations and Judging Procedure examination. Note: Taking the examination again is not a requirement.

The following regulation has been amended to prevent the use of real firearms or of firearms which give the appearance of being genuine in any Heelwork to Music routine.

Amendment to Regulation L11.g.

TO:

Props appropriate to the routine may be used and must remain in the ring and may not be intentionally removed until completion of the routine. No real or realistic imitation firearms may be used as props. The use of firearms is prohibited nor must any simulated Simulated gunshot may not be used.
