Proud owner Mitch said: “I can’t believe it. We’ve never won the group at Crufts before – I’m completely overwhelmed. We bred him and he lives at home with us and his mum and dad. I’ll be back at home working with our horses tomorrow but looking forward to coming back for the Best in Show final on Sunday.”

Caroline Kisko, Kennel Club Secretary, said: “Congratulations to Dave for being chosen as the Best in Group winner today. Dave and Mitch should be proud of reaching the prestigious Best in Show final, it’s a fantastic achievement.

“Crufts recognises the special and unique bond between dogs and their owners and celebrates healthy, happy dogs. Dave has a wonderful relationship with his handler, and is at home in the show ring.

“We want to wish Dave and Mitch the best of luck in the ring, we are sure that all of Banbury will be tuning in to Channel 4 on Sunday to cheer them on.”
