Rushden Randoms Win At Agility Team Event At Crufts

The Rushden Randoms Club took a top prize at Crufts on Saturday 12th March winning the small dog Kennel Club Team Agility final, the only team not to have any faults during the competition.

The team of four dogs and handlers beat off competition from top agility teams around the UK in the hotly contested final at the world's greatest dog show, Crufts. Finalists in the Kennel Club Team Agility competition consisted of large, medium and small dog teams from Kennel Club agility clubs which had previously qualified at heats throughout 2015.

The winning team consisted of Flora the Chinese Crested Powder Puff with owner Donna Lewis, Spook the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel with owner Wendy Gilpin, Jack the Toy Poodle with owner Amanda Spinks and Parker the Poodle cross Jack Russell with owner Julia Durrant.

Team member, Donna said: "To win at Crufts is always a fantastic achievement, but this one feels extra special. We ran second, so to hold off for the victory, being the only group with no faults is fantastic. It hasn't actually sunk in - we feel like screaming!

"We're so proud of all the dogs for coming through the heats and then the final."

Caroline Kisko, Kennel Club Secretary, said: "We would like to congratulate the Rushden Randoms team on their achievements as the standards this year were very high. The dogs and handlers performed exceptionally during the competition. They have all demonstrated what can be achieved with training and good team work."
