Below is a list of The Kennel Club Accredited Instructors who have undergone assessment and are approved by us to carry out training within their specialist areas.

Finding the right instructor

This checklist can help you find the right dog training instructor to suit your needs.
  • Check that the instructor has the relevant and appropriate up-to-date knowledge, skills and experience in dog training instructing
  • Ask the instructor about the training methods they use, to check the methods are positive and motivational, and consistent with the principles of kindness, fairness and good welfare of dogs
  • Seek personal recommendations from friends or perhaps your local veterinary practice, and ask the instructor for client references
  • Check that the instructor has appropriate and valid insurance cover, e.g. public liability
  • Before you commit, attend a dog training session run by the instructor, so that you can observe how and what they teach, and how they communicate with their clients
  • Check that the instructor is registered with a body such as The Kennel Club Accredited Instructors scheme
