Gloucester Agility Star Crowned ABC Agility Novice Winner At Crufts

Willow, a Shetland Sheepdog and Karen Gibbons from Quedgeley, Gloucester won the Kennel Club Medium Novice ABC (Anything But Collies) Agility competition after battling it out against nine other finalists at Crufts, the world's greatest dog show, on Friday 11th March.

The competition returned to Crufts for the fourth time this year and the final saw medium dogs in Grades 1-5 of agility, other than Border Collies and Working Sheepdogs, competing to win. All of the finalists competing had qualified at the semi-finals at Eukanuba Discover Dogs in October 2015.

Proud owner Karen said: "It feels so amazing to win. Willow was absolutely brilliant out there and did everything I asked of her and more. Crufts is a fantastic show and there is nothing else quite like it. It's unbelievable when you get out on that famous green carpet in front of the crowd. It's really exciting to be here in the 125th year. I love being here and I'm so proud of my dog."

Caroline Kisko, Kennel Club Secretary, said: "The ABC Agility competition is a wonderful event, and it is fantastic to see all of the different breeds competing in agility. It is such a great sport, for both the dog and the owner.

"Willow and Karen's performance at Crufts was brilliant and they worked very well as a team, which is crucial when competing in agility at Crufts. We would like to congratulate them both on their achievement."

Crufts takes place from 10th - 13th March 2016 at the NEC, Birmingham. For more information, please visit www.crufts.org.uk.
