Showground facilities

The showground will have access to the following facilities during your stay:

  • 24-hour toilet and shower block  (no dogs inside)
  • numerous drinking water points
  • Washing up area (not for dogs) 
  • Waste disposal suitable for caravans/motor homes  
  • Indoor areas - the Main marquee and Rutland Pavilion
  • Wet weather marquee
  • Clubhouse - fully licensed bar open 5.30pm – 8.30pm inside and outside seating available.
  • Pre-ordered catering – breakfast hours: 7am – 8:30am - Dinner Hours 5:30-7:00pm. If you do purchase food in advanced you will be given catering vouchers once onsite
  • Electrical charging points available in the main marquee
  • Hardstanding carpark
  • Disabled access throughout the pavilion and including car parking
  • Designated exercise area for dogs 
  • large bins suitable for dog waste & general waste 
  • Tea and coffee available in the main marquee
  • Picnic benches
  • 24-hour security on the main gate
  • Between 21:30pm - 07:30am there should be no movement of vehicles onsite unless an emergency

There will be no catering vans on-site but please read the local amenities information for shops.

Camping

  • All pitch sizes are 10m x 8m, you are not permitted to have anything outside this pitch (including vehicles, guy ropes, fencing etc)

  • On the day of arrival on 27 July the pitches will be available from 2pm onwards and they must be vacated by 12pm on Friday 2 August

  • On 28 July at 4:30pm we will have a 'welcome to Camp' get together, for all to attend.

  • Pre-booked pitch on-site

  • All those bringing a caravan/motorhome you will need to please bring additional supporting pads/chocks to the ones which are fitted to your motorhome or caravan. This is due to stopping caravans from sinking into the ground in wet weather

  • If you have selected electrical hook-up option, you will have access to 1x 3pin female camping socket. Please note, this is NOT a normal plug socket. The socket will be located between pitches, so please make sure you have a sufficiently long cable to reach the socket. 

  • Generators are permitted between the hours of 8am – 10pm. Please respect your neighbours by keeping general noise to a minimum outside of these hours  

  • All those camping on the showground field need to please bring additional supporting pads to the ones which are fitted to your motorhome or caravan. This is due to stopping caravans from sinking into the ground in wet weather

  • Camping and carparking
    In normal weather conditions, cars will be parked inside your pitch. In adverse wet weather no vehicles may be moved on the grass. In this instance, if you need to leave site, you car will be parked in the hardstanding carpark.

  • ELSAN waste point

  • Fire extinguishers set a designated points.

  • The event organisers reserve the right to ask for any structure on-site to be taken down if it has the potential to be unsafe  

  • Camping may only be purchased by the immediate family of a YKC member booked onto the camp 

  • While camping with us, unless  taking part in activities or using the exercise area, your dog/s must be secure at all times. We would recommend setting up a fence around your camping pitch to allow your dogs to be secure during your stay. Whilst moving about site, dogs MUST be on leads at all times unless taking part in training or using the exercise area

  • Camping areas will be checked daily by the Site Manager and on departure for litter and any items left deemed unsafe

General

  • Open fires are not permitted on-site. Barbecues may be lit, provided they are raised off the ground and are in a suitable container, no wood-burning or fire pits are allowed
  • Please ensure the smoke and fumes do not disturb other site users
  • No drones / kites / other activities that could be distracting to dogs whilst on site. 
  • We make every effort to keep the site facilities clean and tidy and ask for your assistance in maintaining this standard by using the refuse and recycling bins and chemical disposal points provided, and by leaving all facilities clean after use
  • Please think ahead and only bring on-site what you are prepared to take off. We have limited refuse facilities for general rubbish throughout the week which will be monitored by event staff 
  • You are responsible for any of the items you bring to the campsite. Please ensure that all camping equipment is suitable for weather conditions at the event and that all camping items are properly erected and secured. 
  • Please remember to clear up after your dog and dispose of dog poo bags in the bins provided
  • No hot water/boiling water/fat or shower water to be disposed off on the grass
  • In the evenings and early mornings please think of your camping neighbours in regards to noise

Staying at Summer Camp

  • We want to make sure everyone who comes to Summer Camp has a lovely time with their family. With this mind, please make sure everyone is aware of our Summer Camp Standards.

  • Our teams work really hard to look after you while you are at camp and will always be kind and polite. Please show them the same courtesy.

  • Summer Camp is a place for families please watch your language, drink responsibly and treat other guests with courtesy.

  • Everyone deserves a good nights sleep so please keep the noise down in your tent or caravan at night.

  • The showground is a lovely venue please help us look after it while you are here
  • We do our utmost to provide a safe and secure environment, we ask you to make sure you know where your children are and do not leave site without them.
  • We operate a wristband policy, these are issued to all campers onsite, and including visitors, you will be required to show your wristband when leaving and coming back onsite.
  • Visitors will need to sign in and out at the information desk

Dog Policies

  • Bitches in season should not be present at camp, however if there are no alternatives and the bitch in season has to attend then it CANNOT take part in any training sessions and MUST be kept on the caravan/tent pitch and exercised well away from other dogs. Failure to adhere to this WILL result in management asking for the dog to be removed from camp.

Health and safety

  • All people on-site will be issued with wristbands, please ensure your party wears them at all times and visitors will need to sign in and out at the information desk.

  • Children are not to left onsite unsupervised. If you do need to go offsite you MUST take your child with you.

  • All camping plots will be numbered and carpark pass will be issued.

  • Visitors are required to sign in and out with the event staff

  • The Fire/emergency meeting point will be allocated at the showground carpark  

  • First aid on-site of emergencies

  • While driving on site, a strict 5mph speed limit will be in place 

  • The Kennel Club reserves the right to revoke camping access for any breaches of the terms and conditions or for any unforeseen matter.
