Young Kennel Club Artist of the Year

YKC Artist Of The Year
We are inviting all members to showcase their talents, imagination, and creativity to create artwork in this year’s Young Kennel Club Artist of the Year competition. With the theme of ‘recycled art’, this year’s competition will focus on waste and the environment. The closing date for entries will be Friday 22 April 2022, and you could be in with a chance to win some great prizes!

Thank you to last year’s winner Lilias Hoare Nairne who chose the theme for 2022.
The theme

The theme for your artwork should be based on "recycled art".

  • The benefits to recycled art include extending the life of materials which are otherwise difficult, expensive or impossible to recycle
  • Creating worthwhile and interesting pieces of art from material that is just thrown away
  • Recycled art has the power to inspire action - artwork, sculptures and installations made from waste materials which are damaging to the environment, such as plastic, can also help to highlight the problem and open conversations to bring about change
  • Materials used can be varied from plastic, cans, magazines, cardboard and newspaper
The brief
With this theme, the dog/s should be the main subject of your artwork. Remember that your artwork needs to be made out of recycled, materials. You can either create something out of recycled materials to do with dogs, or showing how dogs can benefit from a clean and tidy environment.

A member may submit one piece of artwork only that best reflects the theme. The artwork submitted must be by the person entering.
