Welcome to the KCAI Members Zone

Welcome to the KCAI Members Zone, a secure area for KCAI Scheme members

The purpose of the Kennel Club Accreditation Scheme for Instructors in Dog Training and Canine Behaviour (KCAI Scheme) is to provide dog owners with a wide and accessible choice of competent and qualified dog training instructors and canine behaviourists.

The scheme offers its members the opportunity to gain a nationally recognised, vocational accreditation award, based on standards set by the Kennel Club and externally verified by City and Guilds, the UK’s leading awarding organisation in the land-based sector – encompassing animal care.

In recognition of achieving Accredited Instructor status, City & Guilds formally certificate KCAI Scheme members – the only scheme for dog training instructors in the UK which is externally certificated by City & Guilds.

Once you gain ‘KCAI Accredited Instructor’ status, you are entitled to use this title, together with the initials associated with the accreditation discipline, in the promotion of your activities, provided that you maintain membership. The Kennel Club publicises its KCAI Accredited Instructors online - find more information here.

Below you will find all the information, guidance and resources you need to enable you to work towards gaining KCAI accreditation. If you are already a KCAI Accredited Instructor, you will also find information about KCAI events and promotions and other useful information.
