Single-breed CC judges to pay only £10 per annum under new judge licensing scheme
Judges who award CCs in a single breed and do not aspire to judge any further breeds at any level will pay only £10 for a yearly judging licence under the Judges Competency Framework (JCF), the Kennel Club has announced.
Appointment of judges at limited and open shows and for non CC classes at championship shows from 2020
Following the recent announcement that the transition period for the Judges Competency Framework (JCF) is to begin in 2020, a year later than originally planned, the Kennel Club has issued new guidance on the appointment of judges from 1st January 2020 onwards.

Run in an innovative collaboration between the Kennel Club and Finnish Kennel Club, the 72 places for the pilot were fully booked within three days of invitations being issued.

Another JCF Milestone Achieved: Names of Breed Education Co-Ordinators Announced
The Kennel Club held its inaugural seminar for breed education co-ordinators as part of the implementation of the Judges Competency Framework (JCF) over the weekend (Sunday 15th July) at the Kennel Club Building, Stoneleigh Park.

JCF Observation
Observation forms an important part in the learning and development experience of a Judge. The observation takes part where a judge is observed while in the act of judging. The observer is there, to ensure the judge is able to demonstrate sufficient ability in terms of knowledge of the breed being judged and also ring manner.
Established single breed CC judges to be licensed for free
Under newly-approved changes to the Judges Competency Framework (JCF), which begins in 2019, the Kennel Club has announced that there will be no licence fee for single breed judges approved to award Challenge Certificates by 1 July 2019.
Eye for a Dog assessment now only for multi-breed judges: Bookings now open for latest dates
Following feedback received from the Eye for a Dog pilot assessments held in 2018, the Kennel Club has relaxed the criteria for taking this assessment from all Judges wishing to be approved to award CCs (JCF Level 4) to those who want to move to a second or subsequent CC breed.
‘Grandfather’ rights for established judges during JCF transition period

JCF online judging and stewarding exams go live on Kennel Club Academy
The Judges Competency Framework (JCF) has entered an exciting new phase with the launch of a Requirements of a Dog Show Judge (RDSJ) refresher exam, as well as a stewarding assessment, both of which have been added online to the Kennel Club Academy.

Breed supported entry classes will improve open shows and assist in judge education, says Kennel Club
The Kennel Club has issued a reminder to breed clubs that, starting this year, they are each required to support classes for their breed at a minimum of two general or group open shows per year. Under the Judges Competency Framework (JCF) such classes will provide judges with valuable hands-on experience.
