Description
In his native Italy the Segugio was originally used to flush out wild boar for the hunter, but with the decline in numbers of wild boar, the Segugio was used to put up hare. The Segugio was not only used for tracking but to kill the quarry. The breed comes in both rough haired and short haired variety.
Although first seen in the UK in 1989, the Segugio population remains very small.
