The UK’s largest organisation dedicated to dog health and welfare, the Kennel Club, has welcomed Labour’s draft policy document ‘Animal Welfare for the Many, Not the Few’, which includes some key policy proposals dedicated to improving dog welfare.

The Scottish Government has announced its intention to continue to allow the sale and use of electric shock training collars on dogs, despite the UK’s largest organisation dedicated to dog health and welfare, the Kennel Club, and the Scottish Kennel Club presenting overwhelming evidence supporting a total ban on the cruel training devices.

There was a worthy winner in Westminster today, as Rocky, a seven-year-old Labrador belonging to Batley and Spen Labour MP Tracy Brabin, was crowned 2017 Westminster Dog of the Year.
