Statement on Kennel Club events and Coronavirus (Covid-19)

3rd April 2020 - 4:38 PM

During this period of uncertainty for us all, the Kennel Club is here for you and your dog.

To help you both stay happy and healthy, we have devised FAQs, advice and support on our website. And to help you to navigate the current crisis, we are working on a hub for resources, ideas, and fun to keep both you and your dogs connected while you're at home, in any situation. We will continue to update our website with the latest from Defra and Department of Health to help guide you, and do keep an eye out for more resources and ideas to keep you and your dogs happy and healthy at this time on our social media channels.

Update: 3 April 2020

Given the rapidly changing situation, please regularly check the latest government advice and continually assess your own situation based on this information. The Kennel Club is in regular contact with Defra to keep up-to-date on developments.

The most recent government measures everyone must comply with are:

  • Stay at home
  • Only go outside for food, health reasons or essential work
  • Stay 2 metres (6ft) away from other people
  • Wash your hands as soon as you get home

The full guidance on complying with these measures is available on the GOV.UK website:

Guidance for pet owners is available from the government here.
