Changes to heelwork to music regulations

The Kennel Club has recently approved changes to the regulations for heelwork to music.

With effect from 1st January 2019, the following regulation has been amended to require all heelwork to music competitions to display all results for every dog entered in heelwork to music classes.

Amendment to Regulation L14.h.

TO:

h. The results and individual judges’ scores for each class  all routines must be displayed on the day and accessible to all competitors.’

With effect from 1st January 2019, the following regulation has been amended to require clubs which hold premier competitions to appoint and publish details of judges at least four months before their competitions.

Amendment to Regulation L17.a.

TO:

Invitations to judge must be made by competition organisers in writing and they must ensure that written acceptances are received. Written acceptances must be followed by written confirmation of the appointment upon which a judging contract will be deemed to have been formed. Judging contracts must be in place for Premier Heelwork to Music Competitions, and details of the appointment published, at least four calendar months before the date of the competition.

With effect from 1st January 2019, the following regulation has been amended to assist with the smooth running of competitions by ensuring back up music would be readily available when required.

Amendment to Regulation L11.p.

TO:

If the music stops during a routine the competitor must be given an opportunity to complete the routine.  The handler’s back-up music,which must be supplied prior to competing may be used and/or alternative equipment if this was the reason for failure.
