Kennel Club Agility Team GB Strikes Gold At The Agility FCI World Championships

The Kennel Club would like to offer its congratulations to Agility Team GB who struck gold at the FCI Agility World Championships in Italy at the weekend.

The Large team won gold in the team competition after coming third in the jumping round and second in the agility round. The FCI Agility World Championships took place from 8th- 11thOctober 2015 at the Unipol Arena in Bologna, Italy.

The triumphant world champion team members and their successful dogs are: Charlotte Harding with Ag Ch Rujaff Red Hot Scandal, Greg Derrett with Devongem Rehab Sproglett, Jess Clarehugh with Ag Ch Lynwood Cara Fuzzy Logic and Matt Goodliffe with Turboed Widewater Wizard.

In addition to the team's success, congratulations go to Naarah Cuddy and Sheltysham Séance who came fifth overall in the Large individual competition, competing overseas for Agility Team GB for the first time this year.

Agility Team GB's previous successes at the FCI Agility World Championships include Natasha Wise and Dizzy becoming three times world champions (2009, 2010 and 2012) and the Large team won gold back in 2003.

Team Manager, Mark Laker said: "It has been a very successful World Championships for Agility Team GB. Congratulations go to the Large team who are now the world champions - such a wonderful achievement. Also congratulations must go to Naarah Cuddy for finishing fifth overall in the Large individual competition, and the Medium team who finished eighth out of twenty eight.

"All the team did well - it's a tough competition with an incredible amount of pressure on the handlers. They coped well and the dogs were fantastic. We would like to thank all the sponsors for their continued support, the people from the agility community who travelled to Italy and to everyone at home watching and supporting the team."
