Young Agility Star Crowned Winner At Crufts 2015

Tink, a six year old German Spitz, and Holly Ryan, aged 13 from West Parley, Dorset, have won the Young Kennel Club Agility Dog of the Year, at Crufts on Thursday 5thMarch.

The competition is open to Young Kennel Club members between the ages of 6-17 years and their dogs and the top agility handlers compete for the title of Agility Dog of the Year.

Proud owner Holly, who trains with her mother, Tracy, said: "It is a bit overwhelming. It was a little bit scary in front of that crowd but I tried to keep my nerves down. I am really proud and it was so amazing to be in front of all those people, especially at the end when you hear everybody clapping and cheering, it's brilliant. I am massively proud of Tink, we have put a lot of work in and we train once a week for this type of event. Crufts is the best event, it is completely different and I look out for it all year."

Caroline Kisko, Kennel Club Secretary said: "The YKC Agility Dog of the Year event reveals future talents, like Holly and Tink, who we will no doubt see at Crufts for years to come. It is so impressive to see a thirteen year old display such a professional performance and it is hugely inspiring for all other young dog handlers. Holly and Tink should be really proud of what they have achieved."
