Warwick Dog Wins Kennel Club Open Retriever Field Trial

A four year old Labrador Retriever from Warwick has won the Kennel Club Open Retriever Field Trial, held at the Grinkle Park estate in Yorkshire.

Field Trial Champion, Astraglen Hail, owned by Steve Richardson, was awarded first place at the competition, which saw talented working Retrievers tested on their natural working ability.

The judges chose the following winners at the trial:

  • 1st- FT Ch Astraglen Hail, Labrador Retriever, owned and handled by Steve Richardson
  • 2nd- Ellijas CoCo, Labrador Retriever, owned and handled by David Kirkby
  • 3rd- Hatchfield Lyon, Labrador Retriever, owned and handled by Diana Harrison

Guns' Choice at the trial was awarded to FT Ch Castlemans Mkussi, a Golden Retriever, owned and handled by Sally Richardson.

Caroline Kisko, Kennel Club Secretary, said: "This season's Open Retriever trial showed off the remarkable level of talent we have in our working retrievers.

"A big congratulations goes out to all the winners, particularly Astraglen Hail and Steve Richardson, and we wish them all much success in the field in the future."
