Qualifying Heats Announced For YKC Groomer Of The Year

The list of qualifying heats for the YKC Groomer of the Year competition have now been announced, with places in the final at the world's biggest dog show, Crufts up for grabs.

Open exclusively to YKC members, the YKC Groomer of the Year Competition, sponsored by Wahl, is an annual favourite amongst young dog lovers and saw 19 year-old Connie Critcher from Lincolnshire triumph at Crufts 2014.

There are two types of dog grooming classes as part of the competition. These are the Groom Through Class, where members are required to show understanding and skill required to remove all tangles from the dog's coat, and the Clip/Trim/Strip class, which enables members to show their skills in coat removal and styling by stripping, trimming and/or clipping, with competitors able to use either one or more of the skills in this class.

YKC members can compete with any dog, over six months of age, pedigree or crossbreed, as long as the dog is registered on a Kennel Club register.

"The YKC Groomer of the Year competition continues to grow each year and we are fortunate to receive the generous support of Wahl who have been with the competition from the very beginning and continue to provide our members with fantastic prizes for all their hard work."
