With less than a month left to secure a place in the main arena at Crufts 2014, this weekend's Ladies Kennel Association Championship Dog Show is the last General Championship show of the year for breeders to qualify for the Kennel Club's Breeders' Competition Final.

Sponsored by Agria Pet Insurance, and supported by Our Dogs newspaper, the Breeders' Competition Final will be held in the main arena at Crufts 2014 on Sunday, 9thMarch at 5.25pm, and will be judged by Dr Paolo Dondina, who judged Best in Show at Crufts in 2011.

Breeders need to have achieved a minimum of 25 points over the calendar year and to have submitted their record books to the Kennel Club by Monday, 6th January 2014 to be in with a chance of winning the prestigious title of Best Breeder or Reserve Best Breeder.

Competitors wishing to view their points total on the official Our Dogs Leader Board can do so at, but are reminded that a copy of the record book must also be submitted to the Kennel Club to ensure qualification.

Caroline Kisko, Kennel Club Secretary said: "The Breeders' Competition is always a highlight at Crufts. We are looking forward to next year's final and wish everyone luck in qualifying."

Those chosen for the final will be the top scoring breeders who have achieved in excess of 25 points, with only the top 50 applicants being given the opportunity to challenge for the title of Best Breeder.

As in previous years, finalists will be pre-judged before going into the main arena. The breeder's team must comprise three or four exhibits of the same breed, must have one handler per dog, and all dogs must have the same registered breeder or breeder partnership.
