A vacancy has arisen in the Operations Department of the Kennel Club as a Regional Breeder Assessor for the Assured Breeder Scheme.

The role is a part time position working a minimum of 2 days per week but with flexibility to increase this dependant on workloads. It is largely field based, conducting inspections at the premises of KC Assured Breeders in the South East of England to assess compliance with the Assured Breeder Scheme Standard and adherence to good dog breeding practice. The role also involves collecting evidence, compiling reports and liaison with the office team. A large amount of travelling will be involved.

The geographical area includes Kent, East and South London, parts of Essex, Surrey and West Sussex, but there may be a requirements to provide cover in other areas at times. Ideally the applicant will be located centrally within the South East area.

The role would suit someone who has experience of dogs, possibly as a breeder themselves or with previous experience working with dogs. They will also have familiarity or previous experience working in an inspection role or an auditing capacity with knowledge of British standards such as those adopted by BSI and UKAS or understanding of legislation.

The successful applicant will be confident, self-motivated, organised and personable. They must have use of a car, a home computer with internet access (out of pocket expenses will be reimbursed) and must be prepared to work flexible hours including some evenings and weekends. Overnight stays may be required.
