The Kennel Club continues to lead the way in developing unique ways to further the debate on the future of dangerous dogs and focus on practical solutions for the next Government. Later in the year the Kennel Club will be speaking at several conferences o this issue.

Kennel Club’s campaign on fairer access for dog walkers

Access is an important issue for dog owners, who must continue to be able to exercise their dogs off lead in their locality. The Kennel Club has recently been involved in a joint project with the National Farmers Union to help them engage with dog owners and have taken part in an event where a Kennel Club representative focussed on best practice by local authorities when looking at access.

Electric shock collars – campaign updates from across the UK

The campaign to ban electric shock collars has continued and led to a debate and photo call session in the Scottish Parliament at the beginning of this year. More recently, the 24th March marked the 5 year anniversary of the ban that already exists in Wales and which we marked with a joint press release with other welfare organisations on the need for the ban to continue in the face of calls for a review of the legislation.
