Latest guidance for travelling with dogs between the UK and the EU after Brexit

7th February 2019 - 3:22 PM

In the event that the UK leaves the EU with no deal in place, the rules for travelling between the UK and the EU with a pet (dog, cat or ferret) will change.

To make sure pets are able to travel under all potential scenarios, owners planning to travel with their pet from the UK to the EU after 29 March 2019, should visit a vet at least four months in advance of travelling to get advice on what preparations might be needed.

For pet travel to the UK from an EU member state there will be no changes to the current health requirements for entering the UK. However to re-enter the EU from the UK pets may need to undergo an additional blood test in an EU country before travelling to the UK.
