Kennel Club statement: Judging appointments

A recent article in the canine press suggested that some individuals are receiving preferential treatment during approvals for first time judging appointments.  This is inaccurate.

In this context the suggestion is made that the Kennel Club Chairman, Simon Luxmoore, was approved for a judging appointment with inadequate judging experience, on the basis of judging figures which were less than the prescribed minimum dogs required.

The English Saint Bernard Club have confirmed;

‘The Club records show an entry of 44 dogs of which Mr Luxmoore judged 32.

The Club can confirm that they supplied Mr Luxmoore with his number of dogs judged for his records. For Kennel Club questionnaire purposes, individual breed matches, like breed seminars, count number of dogs judged, but do not contribute to class numbers.’
