
The Kennel Club Roadshow, executive team and directors will be at Birmingham National Championship Dog show next week which is taking place from Thursday 8 to Sunday 11 May 2025 at Staffordshire County Showground, Staffordshire.
Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with executives and directors, including Jannine Edgar, Chief Executive and Helen Fox, Chief Commercial Officer alongside Board Directors who will be either on the Kennel Club Roadshow Stand or in the hospitality area by the Best in Show Ring between 10am and 3.00pm each day of the show and will be happy to speak with show attendees about The Kennel Club’s ongoing work. Kennel Club members are especially encouraged to stop by for a chat about the upcoming Kennel Club AGM on 24 June.
The Kennel Club roadshow stand will be located outside Bingley Hall and open from 8.30am. Representatives from the digital transformation and canine activities team will be in attendance and able to help with questions around the digitisation of certificates and other showing enquires. The Judges Education team who will be present over the four days running JEP assessments will also be available to answer questions on the Judges Education Programme platform.
Caron Bell, Regional Support Advisor will also be in attendance and is looking forward to meeting exhibitors and organisers of shows and events as well as helping with any club administration enquiries.
More than 8,500 dogs are entered at Birmingham National, a Crufts qualifier, which boasts free car parking, large classification for every breed, Good Citizen Dog Training scheme testing, eye testing, a vulnerable breed stakes, Have A Go training, and new for 2025 – Best Special Beginner in Show competition. Twenty-five breed clubs are also holding their shows in partnership with Birmingham National.
Elsewhere at the show, inside the main hall, The Kennel Club’s Good Citizen Dog Training Scheme are running bronze level tests where pre-booking is not required so just turn up on the day! Dog owners of any fitness level can take part in the Good Citizen Dog Training Scheme.
On Saturday morning or Saturday afternoon the YKC will be hosting handling training morning for young handlers to improve existing skills, or to try handling for the first time. Training will cover entering the ring/lead work/ standing your dog, shadowing, presenting your dog to the judge and pattern. The sessions cost £25, and you can book a place now.
In addition, Lorna Newman BVMS CertVOpthal MRCVS will be holding eye testing sessions under the BVA/KC/ISDS Scheme from 10am until 3pm each day. The cost of the test will be £55. No appointment is necessary. Please remember to bring along the dog’s Kennel Club registration form. Gonioscopy testing may be available depending on demand on the day. The cost for both Gonioscopy and Eye Testing will be £90.
The Kennel Club Roadshow will next head to Scottish Kennel Club in Edinburgh from 15-18 May 2025 where Executives and staff will again be available throughout the event to answer any questions attendees might have about The Kennel Club’s work and initiatives.
