Kennel Club announces new partnership with and Hoseasons to promote dog-friendly staycations

Plus a competition to win a dog-friendly break

The Kennel Club has announced a new partnership with and Hoseasons, both of which welcome millions of guests and their canine companions each year, to provide a platform for booking dog-friendly holiday accommodation, ranging from holiday properties and lodges to canal boats and cruisers.

With around nine million dogs in the UK, and one in four households owning a dog, the great British public are always on the lookout for places where their four-legged family members are also welcome. The partnership between and Hoseasons, which boasts over 11,000 pet-friendly holiday properties with large enclosed gardens and close to scenic green spaces, and the UK’s largest organisations dedicated to dogs, aims to help more owners find dog-friendly holiday rentals. As the biggest providers of pet-friendly accommodation in the UK, and Hoseasons also offer ‘ultra dog-friendly’ properties complete with doggy showers and a welcome pack including towels, a water bowl and special dog tags.

And to celebrate the partnership, the Kennel Club with and Hoseasons have launched a competition to win a £300 prize towards a dog-friendly short UK break.

A Kennel Club spokesperson said: “Despite being a nation of dog lovers, many owners struggle to find accommodation where canine companions are welcome, with research showing many people don’t go away because of their pets, so we are delighted to partner with and Hoseasons to help combat this. Dogs are a part of the family and with over 60% of their holiday homes being pet-friendly, and Hoseasons are the perfect partners to support our dog-friendly mission.”

Sally Henry, Sales Director at Awaze UK, parent company of and Hoseasons, said: “Dogs are the UK’s most popular pet and so it follows that millions of people are looking for holiday homes where their dog will also be welcome. We are delighted to partner with the Kennel Club to help owners find their pawfect break with their four-legged best friend; from coastal retreats to castles, we have accommodation to suit all needs and budgets, close to wonderful walks and beaches as well as dog-friendly pubs, cafes and restaurants.”
