Canine Eye Testing At Game Fair

Owners of Kennel Club registered dogs will be able to get their pets’ eyes examined by a leading veterinary ophthalmologist at the Game Fair 2018 at Ragley Hall, Warwickshire from 27-29 July.

The canine eye tests are being offered as part of the British Veterinary Association/Kennel Club/International Sheepdog Society (BVA/KC/ISDS) Eye Test Scheme, and will take place at the Kennel Club stand on all three days of the show. The tests will work on an appointment basis so dog owners are encouraged to book a place now to avoid disappointment.

The testing will be carried out by leading veterinary ophthalmologist, Professor Peter Bedford and is available for any breed.  Dogs being tested must have a readable microchip and the owner must present their pet’s original Kennel Club registration certificate at the time of testing.

Caroline Kisko, Kennel Club Secretary, said: “We are pleased to be able to offer canine eye testing at the Game Fair again this year as the show is one of the highlights in the calendar for many dog lovers. The eye testing always proves very popular, particularly because dogs are welcome at the show so owners can make a real day of it.

“We are very lucky to have Professor Bedford, one of the UK’s top veterinary ophthalmologists, carrying out the eye tests again, so this is a great opportunity for dog owners who may be attending the Game Fair to have their pets’ eyes tested.”

Testing will be offered from 10am-4pm on Friday 27th and Saturday 28th July, and from 10am-2pm on Sunday 29th.

Those wishing to book an appointment may do so by emailing Susan Sampson, stating which day they plan to attend and a preferred time, or by calling 020 7518 6881. Appointments may also be made at the Game Fair itself, subject to availability, by visiting Sue at the Kennel Club stand.

Tests are priced at the BVA/KC/ISDS basic rate of £40 per dog for the standard eye examination and £49.50 for Glaucoma testing. This will be paid on the day, not in advance, and will require cash payment as there will be no card facilities available.
