Changes to Kennel Club working trials regulations

The Kennel Club has recently approved a number of changes to the regulations for working trials.

Amendment to Regulation I(A)2

The following amendment is intended to clarify wording which could have been perceived to infer that handlers entering trials hosted by societies which had been granted dual championship status would be in breach of regulations if they entered both the Tracking and Patrol Championship stake.

TO:

Any No dog entered in P.D. or T.D. Stakes at a Championship Trial shall not be eligible to enter in any other lower Stake at the meeting.

(Insertions underlined. Deletions struck through.)

Amendment to Regulation I(C)1

The following amendment has been made to reflect that barking at articles during a search is not desirable and should be penalised.

TO:

Method of handling.

Although implicit obedience to all orders is necessary, dogs and handlers must operate in as free and natural a manner as possible; persistent barking, whining, etc. in any exercise other than location of articles, a person or speak on command should be penalised. Food must not be given to the dog by the handler whilst being tested.

(Deletion struck through. Insertion underlined.)
