New Kennel Club Art Exhibition Celebrating 'Magnificent Molossers' Opens 15th February

‘Magnificent Molossers’, a new exhibition of art featuring the Mastiff, Bullmastiff, Neapolitan Mastiff and Dogue de Bordeaux, will open at the Kennel Club Art Gallery on Wednesday 15th February. The exhibition features four of the Molosser breeds in art and will run until 28th July 2017.

Visitors to the exhibition will be able to see a wide selection of art mediums featuring the Molosser, including oil paintings, engravings and bronze, resin and porcelain models, alongside other types of ephemera including dog collars and even a chess set complete with Bullmastiff figures.

Exhibits range from a copy of an Assyrian bas-relief, the original of which dates from 635 BC, through to contemporary canine artwork from well-known artists of the 21st century such as resin sculptures by Sylvia Evans and paintings by artists Martial Robin and Stuart Mallard.

Other highlights include a wonderful collection of late 19th century bronzes from France and Germany, and a unique and very rare stud book and photograph album compiled by the famous Mastiff breeder, Reverend MB Wynn.
