Kennel Club Offers Free Agility Dog Measuring

The Kennel Club is offering agility competitors the opportunity to get their dog measured for free. The measuring sessions, which are being organised as part of the assessment of new measurers across the UK, will take place over three dates in November 2016 and February 2017.

Measuring will be conducted by new measurers, with senior measurers and Kennel Club staff being present. This will count as a dog’s official measurement as appropriate and will be recorded in the dog’s Agility Record Book.

There will be a limited number of record books available on the day, but handlers for first time measures are advised to obtain one first and bring this along, having already completed the dog’s details.

The sessions are particularly aimed at small and medium sized dogs requiring measurement for the accreditation process.

The sessions are being held on the following dates:

Northern Ireland (FULLY BOOKED)

Saturday 12th November – Patch Agility, 89 Ballyrainey Road, Comber, Co Down, BT23 5JU.

Midlands

Saturday 4th February – Stoneleigh Kennel Club Building, Coventry, Warwickshire CV8 2LZ.

Sunday 5th February – Stoneleigh Kennel Club Building, Coventry, Warwickshire CV8 2LZ

Scotland

Saturday 11th February – Excel Dog Agility, City Farm, Westwood, West Calder, EH55 8PP.

Handlers may register to have their dogs measured by emailing our agility team and are kindly requested to include the following information:

  • Date and venue of session
  • Number of dogs to be measured
  • Height categories the dogs fit into: small, medium or large (or for a first-time dog, the estimated height category)
  • Estimated time of attendance, if handlers are able to attend only for a limited period of time

Once registered, an email will be sent to handlers with information about timings and joining instructions for the relevant day.
