West Sussex Dog and Owner Crowned Agility Champions at Crufts After Record Win

Zaz, a seven year-old Sheltie, and owner Bernadette Bay from Fittleworth, West Sussex, won one of the country's most prestigious agility competitions after triumphing in the Kennel Club Agility Championships for small dogs at Crufts on Sunday 13th March.

Agility trainer Bernadette and Zaz won in the small category for the fourth time - a new record for the competition - after competing against other dogs and handlers in both jumping and agility.

Large, medium and small dogs and their handlers who had won an Agility Certificate at a championship show in 2015 took part in the Kennel Club Agility Championships to compete for the title of Agility Champion within their height category.

After their win, Bernadette said "I'm very proud today. It is by far my favourite competition and the crowd make you feel so special.

Caroline Kisko, Kennel Club Secretary, said: "The Agility Championships is the most prestigious of all the agility competitions at Crufts. The championships this year were of a very high standard and it was a hotly contested final.

"Zaz and Bernadette's performance at Crufts was brilliant and they worked very well as a team, which is crucial when competing at such a high level in agility. We would like to congratulate them on their achievement."

Crufts took place from 10th - 13th March 2016 at the NEC, Birmingham. For more information, visit www.crufts.org.uk. The results for Crufts 2016 can be found online at www.press.fossedata.co.uk. For free downloadable images from Crufts 2016, please go to www.w-w-i.com/crufts_2016/.
