Welsh Dogs Win the Obedience World Cup at Crufts

The world's best obedience dogs were revealed at the NEC in Birmingham during Crufts 2016. This year, Wales won the coveted top spot in the Obedience World Cup at the world's greatest dog show.

The international event saw six countries compete in teams of three handlers and their dogs for the Obedience World Cup, in a competition that rewards the hard work of both dog and handler, encouraging responsible ownership and dog behaviour on an international scale.

The following competitors were part of the winning team:

  • Jane Walker and Mair
  • Michelle Dunscombe and Maverick
  • Katy Girdler and Tyler

The English and Scottish teams came in second and third place respectively.

Caroline Kisko, Kennel Club Secretary said: "Top obedience competitors from around the world come to showcase their abilities at the world's biggest and best dog show. Congratulations to Wales on their fantastic success."
