Norfolk Agility Star Crowned Winner At Crufts

Teasel, a Cocker Spaniel, and owner Claire Burrell from Dereham, Norfolk have won one of the country's most prestigious dog agility competitions after battling it out in the Kennel Club Small Singles Agility at Crufts on Friday 11th March.

In front of the crowds at the world's greatest dog show, Crufts, Claire and Teasel won in the small category after competing against nine other dogs and handlers at Crufts in both jumping and agility and then in an agility final.

To compete at Crufts, Teasel and Claire qualified by gaining points at heats held at Kennel Club licensed shows throughout the country.

Proud owner Claire said: "It's brilliant to win, I'm really proud of her; she's a dream to run. It was a tough competition because there were three clear runs before me but I just let her go and she was amazing. To do it at Crufts on its 125th anniversary is very special."

Caroline Kisko, Kennel Club Secretary, said: "The Singles Agility finals at Crufts are probably one of the most keenly fought and most prestigious agility finals in the UK. Just to qualify for a Crufts final is a wonderful achievement.

"Teasel and Claire's performance at Crufts was brilliant and they worked very well as a team, which is crucial when competing at such a high level in agility. We would like to congratulate them on their achievement."

Crufts takes place from 10th - 13th March 2016 at the NEC, Birmingham. For more information, please visit www.crufts.org.uk.
