Newfoundland Wins Prestigious Peterborough Dog Show

A Newfoundland named Tyler, owned by Suzanne Blake from Ellesmere, Shropshire has won Best in Show at the prestigious East of England Championship Dog Show, the largest event of its kind in Cambridgeshire and one of the biggest dog shows in the UK.

The three year-old black male, whose official Kennel Club name is Champion Sandbears Better Than Ever, beat more than 7,000 other dogs to claim the title, making the 300-mile round trip well worthwhile for his breeder.

Suzanne, who is a Kennel Club Assured Breeder, said: ““I have been breeding Newfoundlands since 2003 and am absolutely thrilled by Tyler’s win at this prestigious show. Dog showing is a very rewarding activity as well as a lovely way to meet up with like-minded friends. I enjoy showing my Newfoundlands very much and would definitely recommend this hobby to other people.”
