Managing the arrival of a new DNA test
This toolkit will guide you through the necessary and recommended actions to take following the arrival of a new DNA test for your breed, including how to tell if the test is reliable, how a DNA test is made an official Kennel Club testing scheme, and where to find a list of DNA tests available for your breed and the laboratories that carry these out.

2004 Purebred Dog Health Survey
The Kennel Club/British Small Animal Veterinary Association Scientific Committee joined forces with scientists in the Epidemiology Unit at the Animal Health Trust to carry out a nationwide survey of UK purebred dogs.
2014 Pedigree Breed Health Survey
The results of the 2014 Pedigree Breed Health Survey summarises the results found from nearly 50,000 dogs represented by the completed questionnaires.
Effective population size – population analysis
The Kennel Club’s population analysis reports allow breeders and those involved in canine health to review the unique situation of each breed.
Dog Health Group annual report
The Dog Health Group (DHG) Annual Health Report contains the main achievements of the Kennel Club in dog health and details of continuing progress being made towards improving pedigree dog health. The report also include statistic useful to those monitoring the health of the breed.

Breed Health and Conservation Plans will ensure that all health concerns are identified through evidence-based criteria, and that breeders are provided with useful information and resources to support them in making balanced breeding decisions that make health a priority.
