The Kennel Club Accredited Instructor Scheme (KCAI) is excited to announce the finalists of Trainer of the Year 2015!

The five finalists are below and we would encourage all dog owners, trainers and anyone who has an interest in dogs to vote for their favourite. 


Voting for KCAI Trainer of the Year 2015 has now closed!
The winner will be announced at a ceremony at Crufts 2016:

Saturday 12 March 2016
12.30pm in the Good Citizen Dog Scheme Ring, Hall 3
at the Birmingham NEC

Join us to congratulate the finalists and announce the winner!

Nominations Criteria 

  • Positive difference: made a positive difference to the behaviour of dog(s) and the life/lives of their owner(s)
  • Changed lives: in some way changed the lives of dogs and/or people, who in particular, may have faced struggle e.g. rescue dogs or people who have had challenges to face
  • Helpfulness and dedication: went out of their way to help the dog(s) and their owner(s) by going 'the extra mile' 
  • Wider community: made a positive contribution to the lives of people and dogs through their training on a wider scale e.g. made a positive contribution in their wider community or for charities.

Timeline for KCAI Trainer of the Year 2015

  • Nominations opened: 15 September 2015
  • Nominations closed: 12-noon, 30 October 2015
  • Judging by panel: by 24 November 2015
  • 5 finalists announced: by 3 December 2015
  • Voting closes: 12-noon, 29 January 2016  
  • Winner of Trainer of the Year 2015 award announced at Crufts: 12 March 2016; time TBC
