Importing Dogs to the UK - The Kennel Club ©

The Kennel Club will normally only accept registration for dogs from overseas countries when the following applies:

  • The breed is recognised by the Kennel Club
  • The Kennel Club has a reciprocal agreement with the overseas Kennel Club which have full membership, associate membership or contract partnership of the FCI (Federation Cynologique Internationale)
  • The owner and the dog must be resident at an address in the UK

How to apply for a dog Import registration

To apply for an Import registration the dog would need to be in the registered ownership of the applicant at a UK address and a certified Export pedigree (or equivalent pedigree certificate) issued by the appropriate overseas Kennel Club would need to be submitted with the Form 4 - Registration of an imported dog.
