A12 Disciplinary Case – Mr A Littlejohn

At its meeting on 10 January 2017, the Kennel Club Disciplinary Committee considered the conviction of Mr A Littlejohn from the Ayr Sheriff Court on 22 September 2016 for the offence of embezzlement of funds in the sum of £4,979 whilst acting as the Treasurer of the Cumnock & District Canine Club. The court imposed a community payback order, a supervision period of 12 months and unpaid work activity order of 140 hours.

The committee imposed the following penalties:

To disqualify him from exhibiting at, taking part in, attending and/or having any connection with any event licensed by the Club. If any person disqualified under this sub-paragraph shall attend any canine event whilst disqualified the Kennel Club Board shall have the power to increase the period of disqualification

To disqualify him from being or becoming a member of any canine club or society registered with or affiliated to the Kennel Club

To disqualify him from acting as an Officer or serving on the committee of any canine society

To disqualify him from taking part in the management of any event licensed by the Kennel Club.

To disqualify him from judging at any event licensed by the Kennel Club

To disqualify him from effecting registrations of any or all dogs and/or progeny of such dogs which are owned and/or registered by him (whether or not jointly owned and/or whether or not owned and/or registered in the name of a nominee).

The above listed disqualifications are to be for fifteen years from 10 January 2017.

The committee, following the imposition of these penalties, would draw the attention of the respondent to the effect of Rule A11n.

Note
Mr Littlejohn was subsequently convicted by the Kilmarnock Sheriff Court on 5 January 2017 for embezzlement from the Cambuslang Canine Club and given an increase in the supervision order and an extra 200 hours community service.
