Kennel Club Offers Invaluable Event Management Seminars

The Kennel Club is offering two event management seminars in November 2016 and January 2017 in order for people to learn how to organise and manage competitions in rally and agility. The two seminars will cover all aspects of administration, planning, health and safety, and venue selection when organising competitions in the respective disciplines.

The Rally Competition Management Seminar will be held on Sunday 6th November 2016 at the Excel Dog Training Centre in West Calder, West Lothian. The competition management seminar is a great way to learn more about the management of rally competitions and is open to all.

The seminar will be led by Rachel Bradley who is a Kennel Club Accredited Judges Trainer for rally and a member of the Rally Working Party. Rachel is the Rally Section Head at Leamington DTC and organises their two annual competitions which are amongst the largest in the country.  She has also organised rally competitions for the Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever Club of UK and the Ladies Kennel Association.

The second seminar is the Agility Show Management Seminar which will be held on Sunday 29th January 2017 at the Kennel Club Building in Stoneleigh, Warwickshire.

The seminar will be led by Graham Partridge who has over 20 years of experience in organising shows. He is a Kennel Club Accredited Judges Trainer, Championship and FCI judge, former Kennel Club International Agility Team Manager and is involved in organising the Kennel Club International Agility Festival and Kernow Agility Club Easter show each year.

The management seminars are open to all, but the Kennel Club is encouraging anyone connected with either of these disciplines within administration and organisation to attend to make sure that they are up to date with the Kennel Club Best Practice when organising events.

The seminars will provide an excellent opportunity for delegates to learn from each other's experience.

The cost for each seminar is £35, which includes lunch and light refreshments during the day, and places can be reserved through the Kennel Club’s online shop. The deadline to apply for the rally seminar is 26th October.
