Tink, a six year old German Spitz, and Holly Ryan, aged 13 from
West Parley, Dorset, have won the Young Kennel Club Agility Dog of
the Year, at Crufts on Thursday 5thMarch.
The competition is open to Young Kennel Club members between the
ages of 6-17 years and their dogs and the top agility handlers
compete for the title of Agility Dog of the Year.
Proud owner Holly, who trains with her mother, Tracy, said: "It
is a bit overwhelming. It was a little bit scary in front of that
crowd but I tried to keep my nerves down. I am really proud and it
was so amazing to be in front of all those people, especially at
the end when you hear everybody clapping and cheering, it's
brilliant. I am massively proud of Tink, we have put a lot of work
in and we train once a week for this type of event. Crufts is the
best event, it is completely different and I look out for it all
Caroline Kisko, Kennel Club Secretary said: "The YKC Agility Dog
of the Year event reveals future talents, like Holly and Tink, who
we will no doubt see at Crufts for years to come. It is so
impressive to see a thirteen year old display such a professional
performance and it is hugely inspiring for all other young dog
handlers. Holly and Tink should be really proud of what they have
