Following the recent press release regarding the Regulation
relating to veterinary support at shows, the Kennel Club has
received a number of enquiries regarding this announcement and
therefore wishes to provide an update on the matter.
Show societies are advised that the requirement to have a
veterinary surgeon present at Open shows where 200+ classes are
scheduled is now under review by the Show Executive Sub-Committee.
Therefore whilst this matter is under review, the Kennel Club is
advising that Open show societies which have either published their
schedule, or are in the process of formulating one, are permitted
to adopt the level of veterinary cover which is considered to be
custom and practice for their show, as in previous years.
The Kennel Club will issue further information once the
regulation review has been completed.
