Veterinary support at dogs shows - Update

Following the recent press release regarding the Regulation relating to veterinary support at shows, the Kennel Club has received a number of enquiries regarding this announcement and therefore wishes to provide an update on the matter.

Show societies are advised that the requirement to have a veterinary surgeon present at Open shows where 200+ classes are scheduled is now under review by the Show Executive Sub-Committee. Therefore whilst this matter is under review, the Kennel Club is advising that Open show societies which have either published their schedule, or are in the process of formulating one, are permitted to adopt the level of veterinary cover which is considered to be custom and practice for their show, as in previous years.

The Kennel Club will issue further information once the regulation review has been completed.
