The Kennel Club's Hunt, Point, Retrieve (HPR) Championship,
sponsored by Skinner's pet foods, will be returning to the Swinton
Park estate, North Yorkshire, on 13 - 14 November 2015.
The championship, which is designed specifically to test the
competing dogs' quartering, hunting and retrieving ability at a
championship level, will offer the chance for owners of HPR breeds
to demonstrate the working skills of their dogs in a competitive
Caroline Kisko, Kennel Club Secretary, said: "The Hunt, Point,
Retrieve Championship is great chance for the HPR community to
showcase the working ability of their dogs and to show off the hard
work they have put in to continuously and consistently raise the
standard of their dogs' work.
"The HPR Championship is the pinnacle in the working gundog
calendar for the breeds involved and we are very much looking
forward to seeing the high standards showcased by the HPR breeds
again this year."
The winners of last year's HPR Championship were three year old
German Longhaired Pointer, Wamilanghaar Tash, also known as Tashi,
from Andover in Hampshire and his owner Howard Kirby.
To qualify to compete in the competition, dogs must have gained a
first or second place in an Open Hunt, Point and Retrieve Field
Trial, and the qualifying award must have been gained in the two
preceding seasons, which for the purposes of the HPR Championship
means awards gained since 13 November 2013. It should be
noted that dogs which hold the title of Field Trial Champion do not
automatically qualify for entry and will still need to meet the
