The plight of rescue dogs will be highlighted at London's biggest dog event, Discover Dogs, held at Earls Court on 8-9 November, as Kennel Club Breed Rescue (KCBR) organisations promote the benefits of rescuing a dog in need on the Find a Rescue Dog stand and the Eukanuba stand.

Representatives of twelve KCBR organisations will be bringing along their dogs to help them engage with the public on issues surrounding rescue dogs and to promote breed-specific rescue organisations and the positive work they do for dogs.

On Saturday 8 November, the Kennel Club Breed Rescue stand will host the French Bulldog Welfare Trust, the Rottweiler Welfare Association, Midland Chihuahua Rescue and the Cairn Terrier Relief Fund.  On Sunday 9 November it will host Southern Cavalier Welfare, The Edward Foundation (Bulldogs), South Eastern Counties Staffordshire Bull Terrier Rescue and the Independent Borzoi Rescue.

Eukanuba, which sponsors Discover Dogs, is hosting a number of KCBRs on its stand at the event, with Northern Newfoundland Club Welfare and Labrador Rescue Kent on the stand on Saturday and Valgrays Border Collie Rescue and Poodle Network UK on Sunday.

Mike Bloxsome, UK Breeder Manager at Eukanuba, said: "Eukanuba is proud to be sharing a stand with KCBR organisations and to shine a light on the plight of rescue dogs.  Having them on the stand will enable visitors to meet some of the rescue dogs being cared for by these fantastic organisations and find out more from the experts on issues surrounding dog rescue and rehoming."

Caroline Kisko, Kennel Club Secretary, said: "Discover Dogs attracts thousands of visitors of all ages and as such is the perfect opportunity to showcase the great work done by Kennel Club Breed Rescue organisations.

"Although not as well-known as other organisations, KCBRs work incredibly hard to support their breed.  There is a breed rescue organisation for almost every one of the 215 breeds of pedigree dog in the UK, and many of them also take in crossbreeds so they are a great resource for those considering rescuing a dog."
