Amendments Made To The Heelwork To Music Regulations By The Kennel Club

Following the creation of Heelwork to Music Listed Status, the Kennel Club has made a number of changes to the Heelwork to Music 'L' Regulations. Amendments have also been made to the 'A' Regulations - The Rules of the Kennel Club. The General Committee has recently approved the amendments which will come into effect immediately.

Throughout the Regulations where 'Society', 'Competition Society', 'Organising Society' or 'Committee of the Society' are referenced, as these terms are not strictly applicable to some listed status organisations, they will be replaced with the more general term 'competition organisers' wherever appropriate.

Regulation L4. Licensed HTM Competitions.

Licensed HTM Competitions held under Kennel Club Rules and Regulations are those held under a licence granted by the General Committee of the Kennel Clubto Registered Societies or other organisations approved by the General Committee of the Kennel Club and are:

a.    Premier Heelwork to Music Competitions. Classesmay be limited to a prescribed number of routines.Competition organisers may schedule their choice of official categories and official classes, including qualifying heats for Kennel Club competitions. Additional classes may be scheduled but only in conjunction with official classes. Only Kennel Club Registered Societies are eligible to apply for these licences.

b.    Open Heelwork to Music Competitions. Classesmay be limited to a prescribed number of routines.Competition organisers may schedule their choice of official categories and official classes, except qualifying heats for Kennel Club competitions. Additional classes may be scheduled but only in conjunction with official classes.

Regulation L7. Undertaking of Guarantors

The application form for a HTM Competition licence must be signed by the Guarantors who must give their full addresses in the spaces provided on the form…

The Guarantors for Competitions shall be:

a. For shows organised by Kennel Club Registered Clubs and Societies:

A minimum of three members of the Committee which must include the Society Chairman, Treasurer and Secretary.

c.   For Shows organised by other organisations approved by the General Committee of the Kennel Club:

            One or more person(s) named on the licence of the show.

Regulation 17. Judging Contracts

TO

a. Invitations to judge must be made bycompetitionorganisersin writing and they must ensure that written acceptances are received. Written acceptances must be followed by written confirmation of the appointment by thecompetition organisersupon which a judging contract will be deemed to have been formed.

c. In the event of a judge orcompetition organiserbeing in breach of any of the terms of a judging contract, the General Committee may impose a fine. The judge orcompetition organisermay be required by the General Committee to give reasons …

To avoid redundancy and repetition, the following Regulations will be deleted:

Delete - Regulation L(A)7.

7. HTM Competitions must include the organiser's choice of official categories and classes which must be specified in the Schedule.

Delete - Regulation L(A)11. Additional Classes.

11. Additional Classes. Additional Classes may be scheduled but only in conjunction with official classes.

Renumbering:

Regulation L(A)8. - Renumber to L(A)7.

Regulation L(A)9. - Renumber to L(A)8.

Regulation L(A)10. - Renumber to L(A)9.

At the Annual General Meeting the Kennel Club "A" Rules  were amended as follows:

(g)   Open Breed Shows, Open Obedience Shows, Open Agility or

       Open Heelwork to MusicShows, Open Rally Competitions and Open Flyball Competitions (each) organised by Registered Clubs or Societies                £35.00

(h)      Open Agility Shows orOpen Heelwork to Musicand Rally

(i)        Competitions organised by Authorised Clubs or Societies                            £60.00

(i)    Heelwork to Music Competitions                                                                         £25.00

(i)    Limited Shows organised by Registered Clubs or Societies              £10.00

(j)   Limited Agility Shows organised by Authorised

         Clubs or Societies                                                                                     £25.00
