Crufts Trials Ramps For Bulldogs

15 January 2014    14:00

Ramps for showing Bulldogs will be available at Crufts, in accordance with a 12 month trial approved by the Kennel Club General Committee.

At the request of the Bulldog Breed Council, the General Committee approved the decision for a trial with effect from 1stJanuary 2014 at a General Committee meeting held on 4thJune 2013.

Caroline Kisko, Kennel Club Secretary said: "As the Bulldog is one of the 14 Kennel Club High Profile Breeds, there is a particular emphasis on judges to look for any visible signs of exaggerations that may be causing the dogs pain or discomfort.  It was agreed that the ramps allowed for a clearer examination of the dogs' eyes and skin and would therefore assist judges in their assessment of the dogs.

"It is optional for the exhibitor to use the ramp in the ring and an exhibitor will not be penalised for not using the ramp."
