With less than two weeks left to secure a place in the Main
Arena at Crufts 2015, this weekend's LKA show was the final General
Championship show of the year for breeders to qualify for the last
ever Kennel Club Breeders' Competition Final.
Breeders need to have achieved a minimum of 25 points over the
calendar year and to have submitted their record books to the
Kennel Club by Monday 5thJanuary 2015 to be in with a chance of
winning the prestigious title of Best Breeder for the last
The Breeders' Competition is open to all scheduled breeds and
AVNSC at every Championship Show, with or without CCs. The
Breeders' Competition, which is supported by Our Dogs, will be
replaced by a new Vulnerable British & Irish Breeds Competition
sponsored by Eukanuba and media partner Our Dogs.
The Grand Final will be held in the Main Arena at Crufts 2015 on
Thursday 5thMarch at 6.10pm, and will be judged by Steve
As in previous years, finalists will be pre-judged before going
into the Main Arena. The breeder's team must comprise three or four
exhibits of the same breed; must have one handler per dog; and all
dogs must have the same registered breeder or breeder
Caroline Kisko, Kennel Club Secretary, said: "With less than two
weeks to go we encourage breeders to enter the last ever Breeders'
Competition - now is the time to make sure that they have secured a
place in the final at Crufts next year. Winning the
competition is such an accolade and testament to the hard work of
those who put care into their breeding and produce wonderful, show
winning dogs as a result."
Competitors are reminded to forward a copy of their Record Book
to the Canine Activities Department at the Kennel Club by Monday,
