The Kennel Club is looking for Accredited Trainers in rally
following the growth of the discipline over the last 12 months.
The Kennel Club adopted rally as a new activity at the end of
2012 and is now inviting applications from those interested who
would like to be considered for the position of Rally Accredited
Trainer for the judges' training programme for activity
The judges' training programme has been developed over a long
period of time and follows the requirements already in place for
those involved in judging other canine activities. It
underlines the Kennel Club's commitment to maintaining and
improving the standard of judges and judging at official Kennel
Club licensed events, and in so doing will ensure the quality of
dogs and the value of awards they receive.
As part of the training programme, the Kennel Club has a number
of Accredited Trainers for each activity responsible for delivering
each seminar and conducting the examination.
All of the activity disciplines' Accredited Trainers are
established judges of long standing and have attended training and
assessment sessions prior to their appointment, in order to prove
their own knowledge and competence in delivering the seminar
Anyone interested in applying must meet the following
- Be an existing rally
- Have knowledge of rally as a
- Good presentation and
teaching skills are essential for the role
- A willingness to travel to
Those interested should send their application, including
details of their canine experience with specific reference to
rally, to Debbie Deuchar, Manager Working Dog Activities Team, The
Kennel Club, 1-5 Clarges Street, Piccadilly, London W1J 8AB or by
by 31st October 2013.
Potential trainers will be invited to deliver a 10 - 15 min
presentation on a given rally subject at the Kennel Club office in
London on Friday 29thNovember.
