The Kennel Club is an organisation committed to promoting and protecting dogs’ varied roles in society and defending the interests of all dog owners.

An opportunity has arisen for an Assured Breeder Scheme Assistant within our Health & Breeder Services Department. The role is based within the Kennel Club Assured Breeder Scheme which sets and maintains standards for dog breeders. The role is a full time, permanent contract.

You will be responsible for the administration to support all aspects of the Assured Breeder Scheme. This will include dealing with Assured Breeder Assessors and providing them with all relevant documentation and assisting with arranging visits to members. You will also assist with collating and delivering visit reports, and assist with all aspects of the Breeder visit process. You will also assist in providing a canine information service to both internal and external customers dealing with a range of queries, questions and issues which will be highly varied, and managing written correspondence by email and letter, and handling telephone enquires. 

The ideal candidate will have solid administration experience and be confident on the telephone and dealing with of a range of people. You will also be competent using Word, Excel and email systems and have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong attention to detail is essential as well as being a good team member and the ability to have a flexible approach to work. 

You must be happy working in a busy environment within a small team that focuses around the health of dogs. Knowledge of the canine world would be an advantage, however training will be given and you may also be required to attend weekend events, including Crufts and Discover Dogs.
