Meet the Kennel Club

The aim of the Kennel Club is to promote in every way the general improvement of dogs, and the Kennel Club team works hard behind the scenes to achieve this aim and also towards 'making a difference for dogs'.

There is a wealth of information available on this website to help you achieve a happy and contented life with your new puppy or dog. The Kennel Club produces a number of information guides and publishes information on the full range of services available. It aims to provide a ‘central point’ for all dog owners to find answers to many questions that might arise during your dog owning years.

The Kennel Club publishes an Annual Report which is available to view or download (in PDF format).

The Kennel Club is passionate about responsible dog ownership and continuously invests in educational programmes including the Good Citizen Dog Scheme, Safe and Sound Scheme, the Young Kennel Club, Petlog and events such as Discover Dogs.

The Kennel Club supports the important work of the Kennel Club Charitable Trust. Established in 1987, the Trust has donated over £3 million to a range of organisations and charities, helping them to achieve the Trust’s objective of making a difference for dogs. Through its grants programme the Trust is able to fund a wide variety of work ranging from scientific and research grants to welfare initiatives, all of which are aimed at giving dogs healthier and happier lives. The Kennel Club Charitable Trust is in a unique position of being able to consider all aspects of the health and welfare of the dog and support a wide programme of initiatives.

Together with the support of over 150 staff located at two main offices, covering a wide range of services, disciplines and activities, the Kennel Club is best equipped to help new owners give their new puppies or dogs the best possible start in life.
